The strangest of places

Old-timers will know that generally I find magic more interesting than magick (although I still perceive a certain amount of crossover in the fuzzy area between).

Anyway, without opening that old can of worms, this amused me.  Although I remain a theoretical student right now (not a performer) I have done quite a lot of collecting and reading of material on what magicians call 'Mentalism' (all the pseudo-psi stuff).

Imagine my amusement when I bought a book by one of the best (Bob Cassidy) a while back, only to find that among the extras included on the CD I found Principia Discordia!

See here, at Lybrary (the best online magic resource, at least for ebooks).

Oh, and the crossover I mentioned?  Well the link between shamanism, tricksters, and the mixture of ritual, manipulation of perceptions, etc.

You can find quite a lot of interesting links to quality magic (and scams, hypnosis, etc) on my Intelligence Increase blog even though I haven't been updating it recently...

Jeff McBride and Eugene Burger explore that ambiguous realm of masks, myth and magic - and Jeff roams from shows in Las Vegas to fire and mask rituals at Burning Man.

It's not all boring card tricks, you know - for instance, you might find the sub-genre of Bizarre Magick (sic) interesting...

And in the UK Derren Brown has raised that ambiguity about 'psi' again...
